Vote for your favorite candidate to be the cover of the upcoming DJ Shadow seven inch release for the track "Come on Riding (Through The Cosmos)". This is part of the Secret 7" Project, where seven bands and recording artists are inviting creatives to design the artwork for a seven inch vinyl sleeve inspired by one of their songs. Greetings all, and thank you for your patience. This contest was nothing short of staggering, both in terms of quantity and quality. I had never listened to 400 versions of ANYTHING before, and was amazed at the variety and creativity; it certainly made the many hours of listening go by quicker. (read more)

Happy New Year! Shadow is back at work listening to all of the remixes, from oldest to newest; he reports that he has surpassed the 300 mark (out of 406 entries). We know it's hard to wait, but judging 400 remixes objectively takes some time! He's hoping to reveal the winning remix next week. As a token of gratitude for being so patient, here's a link to download a cool new remix of Shadow's "Give Me Back The Nights," courtesy of 2010 remix project finalist Economics. Enjoy! (read more)

As of today (December 14), Shadow reports that he is about halfway through listening to all of the remixes. He's listening to ALL the mixes in order from oldest to newest, and has begun posting a few comments. Thanks again for your support!!

Design artwork for DJ Shadow w/ Secret 7"

Secret 7" is an exciting project combining music and art in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust. Seven bands and recording artists are inviting creatives to design the artwork for a seven inch vinyl sleeve inspired by one of their songs. The project will culminate in 700 unique vinyl sleeves displayed in Idea Generation Gallery in London in the week leading up to Record Store Day 2012. On that day, each of the vinyls at the gallery will be available to purchase with all of the profits going to Teenage Cancer Trust. (read more)

Village Music: Last of the Great Record Stores

Back in 2007, Shadow commemorated the closing of iconic Bay Area record store Village Music by spinning in the store every day for a month. A documentary about the history of the store and its owner, John Goddard, was filmed, but never completed. Now, the film's director and producer have announced a Kickstarter campaign to raise the funds necessary to complete the film. Request "Scale it Back" feat. Little Dragon on Jelli! Simply go to http://www.jelli.com/kyli and create your free account.

Search for DJ Shadow (no quotations).
Then click the yes vote button (check mark) and mouse over the track to find the radioactive symbol. Click it to view the powerup panel, then click the "rocket" symbol.

Submissions are now closed for the official DJ Shadow "Scale It Back" Remix Competition. The response has been amazing, and we sincerely thank all of you who participated. We received almost 400 submissions, and you can listen to all of them at:
